What a Site Teaches You Before You Draw

Light, wind, slope and neighbours — the questions a site asks long before the first line is drawn.

Thinking

A style is an answer. We prefer to begin with questions about how people live.

Materials

Earth is not a finish. It is a way of thinking about mass, climate and craft.

On Site

The moment a line on paper becomes a wall is where design is tested most.

Climate

Orientation, openings and shade can do much of the work machines are asked to do.

Details

Small junctions — where materials meet — decide how a space is felt.
